In 1950 members of the MAUS registered informations from different sources about citizens of Bremen from the 16th and 17th century. This information were compiled into around 30.000 index cards.
These index cards have been scanned and copied.
You can find a list of references at the end of each text.
The names often describe the place of residence or the origin of someone, especially from early citizens’ of Bremen:
|iuxta aquam, Rolandus iuxta aquam||beside, near the water|
|de Gropelinghe, Arnoldus||from Groepelingen|
