This source claims birth was 1 Sept 1885., "Henry Rohrs Hurt", New Rochelle Pioneer, July 7, 1906., Lived at 192 Webster Ave., New Rochelle with wife Elizabeth through the 1920's. In the 1930's and beyond, he owned "Travelers Rest", a gas station and general store in Danbury, Ct. He Lived in Connecticut for 37 years. "I got gas there as a young driver not knowing who he was." (comment- George L. Rohrs). Birthday also listed as 1 Sept. 1885. Buried in Beechwood Cemetery, New Rochelle, NY.In 1906, Henry was hurt in a fall from his horse which required hospitalization for months. A severe fracture of both bones in his lower limb caused a doctor to determine amputation was the only way to save his life. Fortunately, this was not necessary.
